Teams: 4 (Team A/Team B/Team C/Team D)
Round Robin: Each team plays every other team once (3 games each), plus a championship game on Sunday
Games: 6 round robin games per division
Championship Sunday:
1st vs. 2nd – Gold Medal Game
3rd vs. 4th – Bronze Medal Game
Win (Regulation): 2 points
Regulation Loss: 0 points
Regulation Tie: 1 points each team
Three (3) 20-minute stop-time periods.
Five-minute warm-up before each game.
Two-minute intermission between periods without a flood (U11 1st & 2nd period)
U11 flood between 2nd & 3rd period
U15 & U18 flood after every period
If tied after regulation:
5 minute 3-on-3 hockey sudden death overtime
If still tied:
Three-player shootout.
Sudden-death shootout until a winner is determined.
If two or more teams finish tied after round robin play:
Most points.
Goal differential (maximum +7 per game).
Head-to-head result.
Fewest goals against.
Most goals scored.
Coin toss.
For three-way ties:
Apply goal differential among tied teams first, then continue through the remaining tie-breakers.
Players must be listed on the official tournament roster before the team's first game.
No additions after the first game without tournament approval.
Hockey Alberta rules apply unless otherwise noted.
Any player receiving:
Match Penalty
Gross Misconduct
Fighting Major
Game Misconduct
will be sent to Hockey Alberta and reviewed by the Tournament Committee before participating in the next game.
Teams, including the coaching staff, will shake hands following the game.
A zero-tolerance policy is in effect, always. Any abuse towards players, coaches, volunteers, tournament officials, or referees will result in ejection from the arena.
Any player or team official who receives a major penalty, match penalty, misconduct penalty, or gross misconduct penalty shall be suspended from the tournament according to the ruling from Hockey Alberta and review from the Tournament Committee
These penalties are subject to review by the Tournament Committee immediately following the game in which the incident(s) occur.
The Tournament Committee has the right to revoke the right of any team, player or team official from further competition should they feel any of the above have acted in an unsportsmanlike manner whether on or off the ice.
No financial reimbursement is made due to ejection from the tournament.
The Tournament Committee has final authority on all disputes.
